Dear Jeryl,

        Look up George Bellows. He did several paintings and lithographs
about boxing and polo. Jacob Lawrence did a painting about runners. Leroy
Nieman(sp?) sort of "jogs" the memory as an artist who has done sport
themes. At home in Columbus we have the work of Elijah Pierce, Black
American wood carver, who did one sculpture of Heismann Trophy
winner(twice) in football, Archie Griffin.
