Let me add that the KCK art staff loved and appreciated Rosie and
her bookmaking inservice. They were the ones who said more, more,
more. So we invited her to do something open to all staff this summer.
Which reminds me that I did not mention the summer inservice days
our district provides in early August. It's funded (no cost) they feed us,
but do not pay us to attend. Many teachers won't take part because
we are not paid at an hourly rate to be there. I just don't understand what
those teachers thought they were getting into when they started teaching.
If they wanted a 9 to 5 job, why not go get a real job. When we suggest
something at a meeting, the hands always go up: can we schedule it within
the duty day ? or I can't be part of it. They even want to get paid to
put up
displays after school, or for time spent preparing student work for
competition. Sorry, I'm venting !! Woody in KC
