Talk about straight talk... Yesterday I took 2 classes of third graders to
The Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Our tour guide stopped in front of
Matisse's Dance and proceeded to have the most interesting discussion on
nudity and art with the class. It was a fabulous way to introduce the nudity
issue to the little ones. One of the children asked why Matisse painted the
dancers without clothes and a wonderful discussion persued! Tommorrow I'm
going back with another two classes and if a child doesn't think of that
question, I'm going to ask it.
