i was in the same chape as you Beth.
The cart began to be the proverbial albatross around my neck. Not only was
it a constant struggle to set up and break down a class in 40 minutes flat
(and don't dare be late to the next one!)
but i found that teachers were constatly interrupting my class- just walking
in and talking to the teacher right in the middle of my teaching. OF course
then, there is the scenario where the teacher sits there and munches on her
snacks while sitting at the computer and reading email. And lastly, there is
the complete perception that I was a glorified babysitter and certainly did
not really have anything of content or value to share. I knocked myself out
for several years trying to persuade the teachers otherwise by my performance
and presentation. A few did appreciate it, but this past year I found that
the majority were just interested in what would serve their purposes and
little else. How sad that the days of intergration are past.........
You keep up your standart of excellence . The legacy of your good work will
follow you. I promise.
