working with gifted

I wonder if you could help me? I am an artist/art
educator with 20 years experience. My 7 year old son
takes Saturday workshop classes at the Gifted Child
Society. I have just been offered a job there in the
fall teaching art, primarily sculpture.

In a lot of ways I teach by instinct. Are there any
books to read or study that would help reaffirm that I
am able to meet the challenges of critical thinking
skills or high level thought? I would be teaching
K-4.
