They were not allowed to use anything from the classroom...although it took a bit to get this through their 5th grade brains!!! Some of them wanted tape....funtack...lol...NO WAY!!! It was sort of a balancing act..although had they thought of it...they could have used long grasses to tie things together. One group used good sized rocks to hold up the large branches. It was a very fast lesson, they had about 25 minutes to build in groups of three...then we had a little informal sharing and group critique and then they came in a wrote about the work and titled it!
