My personal take on Cooperative learning is that it is one of the constant
stream of educational fads that was a miracle cure in the early 90's and
is now out of style. I always hated it because it put too much stress on
the smart kids who really care about their grade and allowed the slackers
to slide through with very little effort. I believe that it encouraged
smart kids to cheat and give their work to others to help them and has had
a lasting effect in that regard. I also believe that it will die out
completely with the increasing interest in raising test scores. Sid
