Just tonight I heard on the news our education commisioner ( Broward Co., Fl.)
wants to raise the pay of teachers into the six digit
figures........................
OK, when you stop laughing....we all can dream , can't we? I began teaching
pre-primary through 5th, now I do 3rd through 12th.
My starting salary at a private school in this district ( 7 years ago ) was
$16,000.
Now as a single mother of three, and two in college, I avoided the bread and
cheese line by having my mother move in with me.
Now close to $30,000, and that includes tuition for my youngeast in Middle
school,
I took out a loan against my home to survive. It's a good thing I really love
my job!
