I love the weaving outside idea...I have been drawing...but the kids love
weaving....perhaps a good way to end the year. On Tuesday I took my 5th
graders outside, divided them into groups and told them they had to build a
sculpture from only materials they could find outside!!! THEY LOVED IT!
The other criteria was that it had to be at least 2 feet high. The results
were fantastic. We did an informal critic and each group had to come up with
a name. When we went inside, they had to do a group writing about the
sculpture!!! Really really fun...and absolutely no prep or clean up!!!
YEAH!!!
