...and as much as one may like control in the classroom, there is only so
much you can anticipate-
Yesterday....I encouraged a student working with a thinner and more
transparent glaze to go ahead and give it a "double-dip"....well, you can
imagine among juniors and seniors where this went...and went it did!!!!
Until my call back to appropriate talk finally settled things down! The
worst of it, (or humor in it)...is many know I hold an ethical conscientious
standard for myself to live up to, thus.....the kids love it when they see a
46 year old male show signs of embarrassment, perhaps even blush. Oh....I'm
not naive, been around the block a few times...but, once in awhile we can
get caught off guard can't we!
What I like, (shaking head now...and rolling eyes), is that instance when
you stay one step ahead of the kids and refuse permission for
something...the kids ask why, you explain....and then they suggest perhaps
the real problem is you are reading into it and have a dirty mind! Like
when they want a certain CD of theirs played, but you know what the songs
are about and say no.
