Richard not only takes into account the site, but he thoroughly
researches the history of an area before starting a mural. Richard's
new book, "The City is My Canvas," is well worth the price.
It is truly remarkable that people tend to walk right by Richard's work
and not see it. The murals are very much a part of the environment and
blend right in. Check out Richard's website for the Tarrant County
Courthouse Annex. You won't believe what he did. The entire facade is
a trompe l'oeil sandstone building.
I am hoping that his mural at the Fountainbleau Hotel is still in
existence when we get there for the NAEA conference. There has been
talk of doing away with it.
From North Texas where we have 7 more days of school!
