With the end of school closing, I am sure I am not the only one who feels
June is just not coming fast enough. Too lighten our thoughts, I figured I
would share this story with you all...
I was explaining what scoring was to a fourth grader today. Without showing
her (because my hands were full), I was giving her directions and she simple
was not getting it. So I tried to make a reference to "prior knowledge"
(trying to be that "professional" teacher). I asked her, "Do you remember
when we did cross-hatching?" No. You don't remember that - with colored
pencils and shading? No. Okay, what about hatching? Do you remember when we
were hatching?
The boy standing next to me said, But Mrs. Green, people don't come from
eggs.
It took me a moment and then I couldn't smiling. :)
