Project suggestions for a special week

Most of our eighth graders will be off to Washington, DC, next week, leaving
about 35 students behind. These students will follow a special schedule for
the week. Students will be divided into three groups. Two of the groups
will take art twice that week and the third group will have it once.

Any suggestions for some interesting one or two day projects that will be
easy to do and hold their interest? Many of these students make poor grades,
are not easily motivated, and tend to be discipline problems, which is
probably why they are not going on the trip. (Yet they resent being left
behind and know that the week's work "does not count".) Except for a few,
these students have not been in art all year.

I have some ideas of my own, but would be interested in hearing what all of
you have to offer.
