Okay, I was out yesterday so i didn't get this posted in time to help
but here is a great quick lesson for all ages to do and it can be
used over and over and over...
Colored pencils and paper is all you need!
I leave a list of words with the instructions written on the page.
(30 photocopies so noone can say they didn't know what to do)

The words:
insects
reptiles
nautical
erotic (you may want to leave this one out but it was included when I
got it)
hidden
urban
endangered
birthday
junk
jungle
rainforest
vegetables
artic
tools
machanical
sports
soloar system
illusions
depression
floral
haunted
dinosaurs
underwater
outer space
outer banks
tropical
melt

The instructions:

Iluustrate two words. (ex. melt - each letter may appear to be
melting) Put one on each side of you paper. This is for a grade.
Use colored pencils and 9x12 paper. If you finish early you may
begin working on your weekly sketches.

Hope this helps!
Meredith
