MONOPRINTS
Just did a printing lesson with my first graders...very simple but they
loved it. They painted black tempera on their piece of plexiglass with foam
brushes, drew in the paint with their pointer finger then layed a piece of
white drawing on top. We used brayers to transfer the print instead of
hands. It was fun to hear the ooohs and ahhas. I showed them how to
carefully wash the plexi between prints and warned them about unacceptable
behavior. I squeezed the paint on the plexi as they needed it. Each student
did about 3 prints in a 55 minute period.
