Re: elementary teachers schedule question

At my school the special area teachers (art, music, PE) teach from
the first day through the last day of school. So I have to start redding up
my rat cage at least two weeks before the end of school on my own time
inorder to get everything done. Inventory and requisitions?....again, all
on my own time. Some of my older students (Grades 3-4-5) do help with
general cleaning. As for the beginning of school---we have a half day to
work in our rooms. One very good thing happened about two years ago. If
we (any teacher) come in on days before or after the school year to set
up/close down our classrooms, we get paid a nominal sum (no more than two
days allowed) for our efforts. It's not much, but at least the
administration and school board recognize all the hard work that teachers
have to do. Of course the IRS (THEIRS) and state take a chunk of tax out
of that :-)

|Schedule: Do any of the elem. art teachers have the first school day
|(beyond the work day) or the last school day to clean up, inventory, etc.
|or do teachers bring students in? Just curious.
