Hi Judy,

I heard this for the first time in April from our teacher leader
for the Arts department (music and art.) Jeanie (Dr. Auseon) said this
applies to elementary as well. How this all plays out in Upper Arlington
will be seen as schedules for next year are developed. I don't feel any
threat of cutbacks at the moment. Will keep you informed of anything I
hear. Do you know Dr. Jill Markey? She has a major art administration
post with the Columbus Public Schools and will be a good source of
information for that district. The OAEA should be keeping up with this
information, too. Are you a member?

|Ohio no longer is requiring a minimum number of minutes for art instruction
|at the middle school level.
|I am just curious if any other schools across Ohio --or in other parts of
|the country are facing this same problem.
