Good news -- About.com

I just checked About.com again. I did not see any of the links to online
gambling casinos on any of the pages I checked. I guess the folks there at
About.com finally listened to us. I "heard" (from someone on this list) that
Channel One bought About.com (About.com is advertised on Channel one). It
always bothered me a bit that they got so much advertising when every page
linked to gambling sites. There are still the banners for lotteries --but
most find that a more acceptable form of gambling. I still haven't bought a
lottery ticket myself (I would rather give my whole $1.00 to
education --instead of the small fraction that goes to education from the
lottery--and do so all the time).

It will probably take them some time to repair all of the broken links (I
spent a whole afternoon on mine--and still have LOTS to go over this
summer).

I sent them a "Thank you" and will eventually put the links to About.com
back on my site.
