1st, Yes I receive a set budget that no one questions how it is spent. I was
hired as a professional and they trust my judgement.
2nd, I have a key that gives me access to every room except the custodial
closet (we contracted out and they immediately locked up supplies - I guess
they thought we'd actually WANT their cheapy TP! *L*) I can go in the
kitchen and get ice or use the ovens, the office to copy or use the phone,
other classrooms, the gym, etc. At one point there was talk about locking
everything up and taking away all the keys, but it was pointed out that if
they allow us to be with the children they should trust us with the
building. We are allowed to keep our keys over the summer.
