Hi everyone,
I have worked hard to get letter grading out of my elementary art classes
over the past few years. We got a new principal that is considering
reinstating it. I am really against this. I can see the change in the
attitudes and freedom the children have after eliminating the grades. I did
start a carbon copy half sheet that I send home that I call the Art Project
Learning Experience. At the end o f the quarter the students fill out what
they learned in art, what medium we used and and or what artist or cultural
area we studied. There is also room for me to comment if I need or if the
student has a concern. This has worked wonderful. It keeps the parents
informed and is also a learning process for students. I would like your
comments...ASAP.
Thanks,
Sarah
