How many of you have encountered the following:Enter the truly talented
student who has been told by previous art teachers that they don't need to do
the lessons that the rest of the class is doing because they are talented and
don't need it. These students have been allowed to go sit in a corner and do
whatever they wanted for years. Then you get them and they know nothing about
how to make good art. Frequently their untalented peers have begun to outdo
them with the knowledge they have gleaned from doing the assignments in art
class. Frequently their parents are in awe of their talent and don't
understand why the grades suddenly drop below A+. Frequently they are a real
pain in the patootsie until you get through to them.
Just curious
