Teaching to the end

    I have requested the last afternoon to close down my room at the school
    that I'm at only one day a week. The following day, I will be at my
    other school, which is my 'home school' to close that down( go through
    my hummocks) and get it ready for the summer cleaning.. I go through
    this every year. The teachers croak!! I've had to go the Adm. bldg. to
    get approval, which they then tell the principal to work it out with the
    teachers. ( I've always gotten it, because the Assistant Supt sees the
    logic but every year you'd think I was asking for them to send me to the
    Bahamas! It is always a mess, even though I serve 2 schools and they
    allow time for only one. I feel badly, because the full time art
    specialist at that second school had to listen to the teachers really
    complain about losing their special on the last afternoon of school.
    She was almost it tears. It put her in the middle. Of course the
    library has been closed for a week already. Go figure. Sometimes I
    think the classroom teachers won't be happy until they only see the kids
    for 15 min. a day!! Betsy
