The conference was great...we shared the $$$ load of the Hilton by making
our room a quad....it takes a special group of people to do so! My
principal was gracious-ha-I was given one profressional day, the other two
as "personal" from my sick leave!! We were so consumed by sessions,
museums and sites that we hardly had a chance to spend much time shopping
or dinning....what I'm trying to get at is that a Nat'l conference doesn't
have to break you....there are advantages to staying on site or at least
very near by....between Binney and Smith and the Getty receptions we were
quite well fed. The ticketed sessions are well worth the investment....and
the presenters of these do get a small spending account and you get
breathing room! I've worked on state level conferences in the past...I
can't imagine setting up a conference miles from home...with a team from
all over, I commend everyone involved!!! I'm courious as to how the "round
tables" went ...I wasn't able to attend them, and I understand that
presenters were asked to choose that format only after submitting their
proposal?! Did any one out there attend or present at these?
Thanks again for the great Getty get together....(and for the informal
...I'm putting LA on my calendar NOW!
