It is very important to use good quality scissors. Nothing is more
frustrating than using a scissors in which the paper folds over or tears
on the child. Fiskars makes great scissors, including ones for people
with special needs. I use a Fiskars Soft Touch scissors, whose grip and
spring makes it much easier for me to do all the cutting required for my
elementary classes. The craft (smaller size) is used by students with
physical disabilities.
Dick Blick catalog has some excellent scisors by Peta company for use
with students with physical limitations. They are worth the money! If you
need more info on adaptive scissors, I'd be happy to help
