Chandra- my sympathy!!! Such support- art in a gym w/ 30 kids and no water!
I'm on a cart myself and no access to water. I get the pkg's. of brown paper
towels from my custodian and soak them 1/2 pkg. about at a time under running
water. They are good and wet, but still manageable.Keep them in a plastic bag.
I distribute @ end of class by tearing off a couple of towels for each kid-
first they do their hands, then their work area. Works pretty well, some kids
would rather clean their table than their hands, any really bad cases,I send
them to the bathroom as they exit, they return to their classroom. Also- as
far as continuity w/ absentees goes, I've noticed that with a longer (3+
weeks) project, absentee kids catch up nicely, usually. A one week project is
so limiting, maybe a 3,4, or 5 week project would work better. Best of luck!
