Hi all! The subject line prob got your attention, eh?
I'm one of the fortunate members who travelled to DC for the
Nat'l-what a great experience! Never having been to DC before, between all
the workshops and other possibilities, I feel totally energized! Lifted my
soul to see green grass and flowers in bloom :-) It was also GREAT to meet
the Artsednetters who were there! Totally fun to finally meet face-to-face!
Can you imagine? Please, everyone, try to get yourself to LA next year! (and
my apologes to those who don't see any way to swing it, but if you need to
convince your district, perhaps now is the time to start working on them.
BTW, I pay my own way, but my district does provide me the release time, a
sub, and $50. towards reg.).
Ok, on to lighthouses-this summer, I will be doing a brief summer
program around the theme of lighthouses with K-8th graders. I can use any
media I care to, but my time with each group will be brief-perhaps 40-80
minutes in a 2 week period. I'm beginning to gather ideas, and looked in the
archives already, but would love some suggestions from this group-being a
high school teacher for so long, it's always a challenge for me to think
about these other ages.
P.S. Hey Kay Broadwater-send me your email address!
