Tile Murals & California

Hello Everyone :)

Thanks again to all of you who responded to my last message. It's great to
have this group as a resource! Some new questions...
1) Does anyone have advice about how to go about creating a tile mural? I
have permission to jazz up an ugly brick wall that people see as they enter
the front doors of our elementary school. My principal suggested I do this
with our multi-age (k-2) kids (eleven classes!). What I really want to know
is am I getting myself into something big that I'll regret trying to finish
before the end of the school year? The wall is made of uneven jagged bricks
(?) like you see on the outside of some houses. I'm also not sure what would
be the best way to deal with tiling an uneven surface like this/a theme for
the mural/ etc...
2) Also, I'm going to be visiting SanFransisco...L.A. and places in between
over spring break next week. Any "must-sees" that an art teacher should know
about?
Sorry this ended up so long! Suzanne
