I just did paper sculptures ala Calder with construction paper. They
turned out beautiful and look like maquettes for larger sculptures. I
have also done this with a second grade class and they love it. You just
need several staplers, paper clips for holding parts that have been
glued until they dry and/or tape. It seems this would work for fences as
well. One of the 2nd graders built a house with a fence and trees and
furniture! All I do is show them how to twist and fold the paper into
shapes and then staple or glue or tape.
