re: sculpture/structure and fences

I did a major architectural unit with my 5th grade several years ago...9 wk
unit with multiple lessons. Thought you might adapt this idea to your needs.

One of the lessons was to create a non-objective sculpture from one of the
basic structural forms...arch, post lintel, column, the geodesic
triangle...etc. We used any material...foil, paper clips, cards, tubes...etc.
The result was a variety of sizes and material qualities...had some really
creative results.

Perhaps you could modify this and have them create a fence from one of these
basic forms and relate it to an architectural experience.

Just a thought.
