Together, we created what I believe to be Indiana's first museum on wheels,
our own MoMA (Museum of Mobile Art).
The students painted reproductions of famous paintings on the body of my 1985
Chevy Celebrity
"The Scream" on the hood
"Starry Night" on the roof
The hands of God and Adam from the Sistine Chapel on the driver's side doors.
"Nighthawks" on the trunk
a design based on Matisse's "Jazz" on the passenger side.
They made large paper stencils of the big color zones in each painting and
blocked them in with spray paint. Then they took brushes and Rust-oleum and
painted in the detail work. We did the whole thing in our school
corporation's bus garage.
It was exhausting and so incredibly fun.
just thought I'd share that with y'all
