Dear Friends, thought this might make your day like it did mine! Today Vice-
President Al Gore visited my city, Sioux Falls, SD. I was selected to be one
of 14 teachers (there are 1,000+ teachers here in town) allowed to visit with
Gore at a round table discussion. What an honor! Anyway, we each were
allowed a few minutes to speak to Gore, and he was a very good listener. When
I introduced myself as an art teacher, he smiled really big and exclaimed,
"Wow! Art was one of my very favorite subjects when I was young!" I said,
"So, I really hope that you will consider art to be a priorty in the future."
Gore replied, "Absolutely, the arts are definitely a priority." And so, there
continues to be a glimmer of hope... :-)
