Re: Monuments/Size

I like Ron's idea of looking at alternative designes for monuments, other
than the one finally selected. He mentions the scaffolding for the
Washington Monument, and also the alternative designs for the origianl
monument itself. I'd like to add to that the various entries for the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial, whose design was ultimately awarded to Maya
Lin. It was quite controversial at the time.
