I asked our science teacher, who also has a farm, if there was a difference.
Kentucky was a leader in hemp production - and if anyone saw the news
stories a couple of years ago - Woody Harrelson paid a visit to a classroom
in a neighboring county to promote hemp. Supposedly they had samples of
products, maybe even seeds. I think it was an elementary classroom, and it
caused quite a stir. He had to appear in court afterwards. The teacher
ended up fired - but for other reasons. There is a teacher at school that
was in that district, I am checking with her.
Anyway... he says they are the same - hemp is the stalk - industrial hemp
has been bred for that purpose. The type of plant that utilizes the leaf
has been bred for specifically that reason... much like cows. Beef cattle
wouldn't be your best milk producers. But they are both cows.
I hope this isn't a repeat - I haven't been able to keep up with all of the
posts.
