Yeah, what do you call that level of classification? Any biologists out
there? What comes after Species in classification? Variety? (Sounds like a
seed catalog) Kinda like the differences between varieties of roses -- only
some are good for perfumers... Still, who was it said "A rose by any other
name..." ? :-) -- or grapes... concord and chardonnay?
The distinction is all in how and when you need to use it. On the table, for
the most part grapes are grapes and roses are roses, for the vintner and
perfumer it can be of great significance.
Lately, for what ever reasons, the US gov. hasn't seen fit to make much
distinction (hence the problem) despite the history of that ol' hemp
farmer -- Mr Washington.
