Re: materials requests and etc.

I had many people asking to borrow. If it really is borrowing scissors, etc
they have to sign on a clipboard with name, amount, room and then check the
stuff back in. Also I talked to the teachers and told them that it woulds be
better for them to keep all the stuff the kids leave at the end of the year
like pencils, colored pencils, markers.etc for the next year. That way when
they ordered more supplies, they would have less to order. I encouraged them
to get clear shoe boxes for storage. I also said I would go to our boss and
support them in their need for more money for art supplies. I took with me a
list of all that was borrowed or used over a year so that this boss could see
the real need. Lastly, I kept and stored something I know the teachers want
and are free like jars from baby food, toilet paper roles. That way I didn't
have to say no all the time. Gail
