The question was asked about hairspray as a good alternative to "smelly"
fixative. Yes, I have been using it for years. I teach in pre-k through 8
and I find it is fine for the work they do. (my daughter when in highschool
would never think of using it tho')
They only sprayed the fixative outdoors, but I spray hairspray in the
class---away from student area and the smell is minimum. We have to be very
careful about using certain sprays as many students are inhaling these sprays,
and odors to get high.It is a very dangerous practice I might add, that has
killed young people! Please be careful about these substances, even white out
is dangerous. I have it in my supplies, but only I apply it to student work.
