firing and glazes

I have been firing pottery for a long time.............about 13
years.................but something happened the last time that I fired that I
have never had to happen before. I used some glazes that I had never used
before so I don't know if that caused it or not.
What happened is that the glazes dripped ALOT.........I mean ALOT!!!! Some
of the pottery had long drips hanging off of them and some were stuck to
stilts. Also after removing completely cooled pottery from the kiln the
glazes began to crackle.............some excessively. I have never had this
to happen before. It was very disappointing to me as well as to the students.
Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this? Any ideas would be
greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much! :)
