Hi, I am a member of the list for a while now. I write in now and
then, but it has been a long time. I have been keeping up by being a
"silent member," though. I work at a complex of museums in Western MA
(2 art museums, 1 history, 1 science). I am the art and history
educator for the complex. I have one project for Jean that is quick
and easy:

Using scratch foam from Dick Blick (its cheap) you can make
indentations in the foam with a pencil. Students can make
hieroglyphics and then use ink and rollers to print them. Foam can
then be cut into cool shapes and printed. Gold ink works really well
and looks great printed on royal blue or black paper.
