To Louise and Diane...I tie-dye tee-shirts with my kindergarteners...they wear
their shirts on Teddy Bear Day and to the airport, etc <class trips>. The tie-
dyeing reinforces the idea of mixing primaries, as we use only red/blue/yellow
dye. For Mother's Day...I have the students draw a small portrait of their
mothers (after looking at "famous mother's in art") ...they sponge paint
wooden hearts and I mod podge the cut out portraits onto the hearts and add
pin backs....mother's of 8th graders still wear them and the kids still talk
about Whistler's mother, etc.
