I've taught elementary art for l3 years and I believe if the "drawing project" lastsmore than 2 classperiods(and it isn't relevant) how long these are, they grow bored with this, I do 45 min periods once every6 day, and my 3rd can do 2 classes in a row, no problem, 3 stretches it. My 2nd and 3rd grades do alot of 2 in a row. I would like more time in the upper levels and less in l/2. I am tryingto design a schedule that would cater to that regime. In the beginning of the year a 1st grader is much different than a 1st grader at the end. I could never conceive of a drawing going on for 2 months, unless it's a group drop in and draw type of activity. My advice/comment for what it's worth.
