Re: Violence by kids

I'm sure there are other factors, but I think that these senseless acts of
violence by this generation of school children is a symptom of our society's
(over)work ethic. Parents have to work more to pay the bills than they did in
the 1970's. Work is prioritized over family. While the parents are working
their butts off to pay the bills, who is raising our
children?....institutions, television, and they are raising themselves. In a
sense it seems that we adults have a Lord of the Flies world forming right
under our busy noses.

Something has to change in our work ethic. We have to be able to spend time
with our children, and pay the bills. We have to raise them! This is a result
of them trying to raise themselves. Perhaps now is the time to start making
demands and compromises in the work place in order to put our families first.
Tell our bosses that we can't work past five, we have children to raise. We
need to find ways to really be with our children. Our future depends on
