I am female.
I teach traditional and computer generated art at Carolina Forest Education
Center High School.
I worked with metals for 15 years or so. I created jewelry and sculpture in
gold, silver, pewter, copper, brass, and steel. I exhibited widely and won
awards for my work. But for the last several years I have been back in the
2-dimensional form of expression. I use oil pastels primarily but also colored
pencils and watercolors. I work in mixed media most of the time. when I am
doing portraits, which I love to do, I work in oil pastels exclusively. Most
of the time. I am winning recognition for my work but I am not really persuing
the market like I should.
Most of my non-portrait work takes a weird twist from beginning to end. I am
also getting back to painting with acrylics slowly but surely. My pieces so
far have been multilevel canvasses involving conflict. I am at this moment not
really sure where my work is taking me but I am loving the ride.
