I, too, am enjoying the diversity of this group! Not being as
experienced as many of you , I don't comment often but have only been in
the group for a month or so.

RE: What kind of artist are you?
I'm a porcelain artist (21 years-self-supporting have a business making
buttons and jewelry-sell nationally to retail stores). I have children
in an elementary school with no art program so I teach on a volunteer
basis 2X a week 2nd & 3rd graders. My own curriculum-using as many ideas
from all of you as I can!! I am in the process of putting together an
art cart with supplies and lesson plans that the teachers can check out
I will demonstrate the lessons once a month at their faculty meetings.
This is my interest in the group. I am too busy to have to re-invent the
wheel when all of you have such great ideas!
So far we have done:
masks(ceramic)
watercolor landscape painting
colorwheels
freeform scuplture using the bio degradable peanuts
collage

Next week we are making drop spindles and spinning on them-also taking
in my spinning wheel. My 9 year old is a great spinner!!
We will incorporate the spinning into a weaving project the teacher is
doing having to do with a unit on plains indians.

Keep posting great ideas!
