Teri,
Last year I did a stained glass project with 5th graders. We first
visited a local church that has Gothic Revival architecture and then
came back and made our own gothic arch windows using color tissue paper,
black construction paper and glue, of symmetrical design. Laminated
they especially hang well in the windows of the school. (There is a
similar lesson in the Art in Adventures, grade 6, Davis Pub., for Rose
windows which I have also taught.) Next, the group then made a
collaborative 'real' stained glass window, which is now installed in the
school lobby.
