Just a short message about a digital camera. Here's two things I have done
this year. I have had students take pictures of their work and make up a
portfolio sheet or reflections sheet using QuarkXpress and importing the
images with a written reflection about their work. It has been slow going
as the camera we have can only take 16 photos and then you must "dump"
them into the hard drive and get them from there. I have learned, though,
that i need to find a more efficient way of organizing the pictures. At
first, I just took pictures, but it would have been better to take all of
one class even if I didn't use the 16 slots then make a catalog, but trial
and error as usual.

The other use for an Art II class, I took photos of the students which
they imported into photoshop and worked on distorting, repeating, adding,
etc. for a self portrait project. Again, slow since i only have the one
camera and program.

Good luck. Fran in Pittsburgh
