Mr. Gore,
May I join the others on our listserv' in appreciation of your recent
visit to the Getty Center and to the benefits of their services to arts
education. Thank you for your continued support of arts education on
behalf of a multitude of visual arts education students and teachers who
benefit from national support that is felt locally throughout our
country. I appreciate too your efforts to keep the NEA alive, that
provide greatly, to the benefit of arts in education programs within our
schools. Specifically, such as the artist residency we experienced in
the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools over this past month, by the
African artist/ traditional woodcarver, Lamidi Fayeke. All students,
teachers, staff who were involved with the project reaped a thousand
times more than $$ can place a value. I understand Lamidi will be at
the Smithsonian next year for a longer artist residency...don't miss the
opportunity to aquaint yourself with this incredible unique individual!
Again thank you for your support and remarks to our Artsednet group.

In Art & Life,
Betti L.
