Ruth,

I am a strong believer in everyones art being displayed. You can make or
break a childs will and drive to create on such subjective decisions. Also
I think it inspires kids to try harder.

We make portfolios for kids to store work in. Its hard with the little
ones. they want to take it all home. I save an occasional work in their
portfolios and in March, Youth Art Month, we have a whole school Art show
and they pick two or three of their favorites for display. The rest goes
home with the portfolio. We have the school orchestra play and have cookies
and drinks. the kids love it, showing off their work to their parents.
It's a lot of work but it's good P.R.
