I love to display as much of my students work as possible. Everything is a
learning experience for our children. I like to keep most of it by the rooms
I work out of here at the elementary level. I have a wonderful space in one
elem. school, unfortunately indoor cinder block----no mounting at all---I use
a lot of 1/2" 3M and Highlander tape plus a 2" wide the district uses for
wrapping boxes . When I put up their work I often get 1/3 of it falling
down for 2 or 3 weeks and then everything stays up---and I try to leave it up
ten weeks. When I did the pocket weaving, I hooked all weavings back to the
matt they wove on so I had their name and room. Every single one got
displayed, now as they release themselves from the wall or a child says I can
safely bring it home this week, they are being removed. I like to look at
that wall space and call it the refrigerator.
Over the years, I've had gallery groups of kids that helped hang art work,
and monitor its safe keeping, That school had 4' high tile work that made
hanging everything at kid level a joy. I ramble.........
