<< I've done a drawing project with 7th graders where I give them a list of
topics to choose from: a birthday party, report card day, a vacation, a
robbery, and so on. >>

What a wonderful idea to get their creative ideas flowing! I taught art in an
elementary school..and this would have been a great idea to use with them! So
many times kids get insecure and think they aren't creative. This project
would show them that they DO have great creative ideas!

I did a drawing project that boosted their confidence in their drawing
abilities as well. Y'all probebly have tried this too. They cout out a
person's face from a magazine, cut it in half veritcally, and glue one half of
the picture to a piece of drawing paper. Then they draw in the missing half.
at first they get intimidated, thinking that they can't draw. By the time
they are finished they are always pleasently surprised to find that they CAN
draw!

I am new to this group, and am glad to meet y'all!
