Evelyn,
I thing that both publications---School Arts and Arts & Activities are
great magazines for many reasons, including art history. The articles are
written by art teachers who have been in real classrooms.
Scholastic Art is also a good resource. I don't order a class set, just
one for me (for the info.) and the poster of the featured artist to use
with classes. Davis Publications has a great selection of visual aids, too.
I set aside part of my budget to buy prints for my classrooms and I save
everything about art history wherever I find it and keep it in files.
You're right. It is hard to find good stuff for el. but I've noticed
that it is improving. There are also some good artist bio. books out there
for el. students.

Hope that helps.
